frustration

Okay, so haven't posted in a week as it would have been nothing but grumbling and complaining. Something I call venting most reference as b*+ching. Anyway, had my monthly menses last week, late, and it simply wreaked havoc. I seriously had NO clue that it would affect a diet so strongly as I've never really noticed a gain each month, then again the scale hasn't always been my best friend. For 5 days the scale showed no weight loss. Okay, so it registered a half pound but nothing significant. At least nothing compared to most folks on their first week on this diet. MOST people have lost around 10 pounds their first week, I finished the week at 3 lbs even. Yes, I know a decent loss for most diets, but this isn't the normal diet either. Even more frustrating were all the goodies brought into work that I had to turn down. Bagels w/cream cheese(a fave), birthday cake, donuts, ice cream etc. Yet still no reflection of my sacrifices on the scale. But I digress, I got on the scale this morning and I was down an additional 2lbs! Maybe this week is going to make up for a sluggish beginning. It's really weird and feels almost obsessive weighing each day. Goes against everything we've ever been told much like the diet itself. No wonder it's so controversial. We're told to eat breakfast every day but the diet says to skip it. We're told that in order to lose weight we must work out this diet says it's not necessary can even be detrimental as it can cause the muscle to hold onto water weight.
Oh, also wanted to note that I really am not hungry on this diet! The afore mentioned 'sacrifices' were of the forbidden fruit variety, not hunger. It's really rather amazing just how much food there is on the plate. And I'm still feeling pretty energized. Think my body likes getting rid of all the toxins that are in the daily diet of the average american. White bread, pasta, and potato chips are beginning to look a bit poisonous to me(lol) Guess we'll see how it all evolves in a few weeks when I go off the diet and begin stabilization.
ETA, forgot to also mention that it has now been 14 days since my last cigarette! I even managed to visit a friend and their smoking family for a few hours without needing a smoke. YEAH, go me!!!(lol)

Congratulations it's positive

Wow, interesting last few days. First, on the yahoo boards I noticed some talk about the possibility of some bad/ineffective hCG folks have been receiving so took the time this morning to pickup a home pregnancy test from the dollar store while I was in town. I remember when these things cost $15+ each now I can get one for a buck. WOW! Anyway, tested my hCG when I got home and it came out positive so can rest easy that my product is fresh and working. Flip side to this is if I feel hungry I don't have anything to blame it on.(lol)
Yesterday was load day 2 and I have to admit that by midday I almost couldn't wait for today and a healthier food intake. Had a donut, 2 fajita tacos(super greasy and yummy) throughout the morning but then couldn't think of a single thing I wanted for lunch so ended up skipping it. Twins and I went to Chuy's for dinner last night as a last hurrah. Had queso w/chips, beef filled chile relleno and chicken enchilada. Wasn't able to even finish half the plate so had to bring home and pretty much forced myself to finish it off around 9 last night. It is just too weird to be given 'permission' to eat any and all the bad foods you want and here I sat craving steamed broccolli and grilled chicken. ;~)
This morning started just a bit rough for me. One of the girls was up early and talking about being hungry. Suggested she cook herself some sausage(really wanted to get the temptation out of the fridge). She hesitated, concerned the smell would make me hungry but I thought I'd be okay. Didn't know that once I gave her the go ahead she'd go all out and fry up potatoes w/onion, cheese, & eggs. Smelled that for an hour and yes I WANTED some. However, I didn't cave in, just decided to grab a serving of strawberries and go to the other room. Worked okay, not quite as fulfilling as the hash style breakfast the twins had but well enough.
Anyway, I am feeling surprisingly energetic, almost wired, today. Not jittery just AWAKE! Rather odd since usually on Saturday's about this time I am seriously considering a nap.
Guess I'll go check the mail and get some work done around the house.
Seeyalaterbye!

Finally!!

Yippee! So the USPS finally figured out where Texas was and delivered my hCG today! Was really beginning to get discouraged when I saw it surf through 3 different San Antonio post offices yesterday. Apparently they all thought the packaging was pretty?
Nice thing was it came in a sort of plastic tupperware style container so perfect for storing in the fridge.
I went ahead and mixed it up. Plan on starting at 150 iu's so mixed with 10 ml's of bacteriostatic sodium chloride and will inject 3cc's each morning. Was a bit nerve wracking mixing this stuff up. Rather makes you feel a bit like a druggie lookin' for a fix.(lol)
Everything is in the fridge ready for the morning. Getting ready for some serious gorging, the part the twins are looking forward to most I think ;) They especially loved that I splurged on ice cream sundae cones from the Schwann's man this evening. ;~)

Going to watch some tv and look at the hcg diet cookbook I printed out so when Saturday gets here I'm ready with some tasty meals on protocol. Have a great evening!

Geography lessons

Anyone care to give the good folks of the United States Postal Service a geography lesson?
Yesterday I noted that my hCG was inbound OUT of New York customs. Rather an oxymoron if you ask me. Checked this morning and now it's been processed through the Portland OR sort facility. Now I know geography can be a challenging subject for some but Texas is a pretty big, rather well known state that MOST people recognize as being in the southern portion of the US, right?!!! I rather expected the package to be in Chicago, Nashville, Atlanta, or Dallas. One of the major hubs but Portland! gimme a break.... gimme a break, break me off a piece of that kitkat bar! (lol)
Well, hopefully it will traverse quickly and I will have by Wednesday. Already have the gorge foods ready at the house. And have admittedly been indulging on things that I know I won't be able to have for the next few months. Had a mocha frappuccino yesterday with one of the twins while we were out shopping. And grits with butter for breakfast, really going to miss my grits. I know if you're not from the south you're thinking nasty but they are delicious with a little salt n pepper and side of bacon crisp. Or some folks like them with sugar, I call that malt-o-meal though.
I think what I am going to miss most of all though is my morning coffee with the flavored coffee-mate. Decided to test myself this AM and left the house without my coffee cup. Okay, so I FORGOT my cup but today is a coffee free day and I'm not doing so well. If anyone has any protocol acceptable substitutions let me know. I don't think a tablespoon of milk is going to cut it though.
Ahh well, have a great day everyone

impatience

So, I've discussed the protocol with my buddy, she's lost 140lbs! Researched on the web. Read some more, researched some more. Discussed with the girls and finally made the decision. Supplies are ordered so now it's just a waiting game. Incredibly frustrating waiting. hCG is not a controlled substance and no prescription is necessary here in the US but you can't just walk into a pharmacy and pick it up over the counter. Nooooo, you have to order from some foreign pharmacy that barely speaks english and pay an outrageous fee to have it shipped to you. Then comes the waiting for the beaurocrates in customs to look at the package and release at their leisure. Last I checked it was "Inbound Out of Customs" Can't they just say "on it's way"? Sheesh! Anyway, looks like I should receive my hormone sometime this week.
